CD POSTER (2)
We decided to change our CD poster as we did not like the previous edit as it looked too plain. We thought that this edit was more aesthetically pleasing and compliments well with our CD cover.

UPDATE ON DIGI-PACK
We have decided to change the pictures used on our Digi-pack as we was not pleased with how it looked. We decided to use different but similar pictures for our CD cover due to the fact that it adds more meaning and has different feel to in comparison to the previous edit of the digi-pack where we used the same picture but just changed the colours and effects on it which we thought it was quite boring. We also changed the pictures due to the fact that we believed that these particular images goes well with our CD cover due to the colours. We wanted to have a consistent colour scheme throughout our CD cover as well as our poster as it would make it easier for target audience to recognise.
UPDATE ON CD COVER
We decided to change our CD cover as this particular edit has more to give for example, the fact that we used the double exposure effect in comparison to the previous edit of the CD cover where we have only changed the filter and the effect of the picture. However, with this edit, we have merged two pictures together as well as changing the effect and the colour of the picture to fit in with the colour scheme of the CD cover as a whole.

CD (DIG-IPACK)
This is what our CD digi-pack looks like. We are quite pleased of how our CD looks like as we feel as though we have followed the conventions of how digi-packs are supposedly to look like. We were inspired by the Rihanna digi-pack as her CD cover have a simplistic feel as well as having the same colour scheme which runs throughout her covers which we wanted to include for our CD digi-pack.
As you can see, this particular digi-pack is very image based. We liked this as the visuals of the digi-pack gives an insight or the feel of what the album will be about. We wanted to use as well as move aways from this convention as we did not want our digi-pack to be image based. However, we did not want too much writing as it is uncommon for people in this generation to buy digi-packs so too much writing may put them off. However, we did write a quote as we feel that it may satisfy the audience's needs.
The fact that only fans buy digi-packs as they would want a hard copy of product instead of listening to it on a device, or on an app such as, spotify; it was important for the digi-pack to interact with the target audience and make it worth the price.

CD- BACK (2)

DIARY
We have done most of the filming and have edited 3/4 of the video. We have also created the back of the CD cover as well as the poster for our CD cover. However, we are in the process of creating the front CD cover.
Today in lesson we edited some more posts as well as creating more posts and also finished creating the front of the CD cover.
We decided to re-film some shots as we felt that it did not look as pleasing.
We should hopefully finish everything by this week.

CD (BACK)
Here is the process of the back of the CD cover that we edited using Photoshop:
STEP 2. We then started to add the titles of the names of the songs that would be included on the album onto the image by using the text box in Photoshop:
STEP 3. We started to add copyright and year as well as who owns the copyright material and who the album has been distributed by
STEP 4. Finally, we started to then add the band name and the record label as well as the barcode.
We decided that this is the final product of the back of the CD cover.

CD COVER
This is our first attempt of doing our CD cover. We used a picture of Sara as the video is based around her and she is the character who dies in the video so it only made sense to use her as the cover. We wanted to use a fading tone or texture to the CD cover to emphasise that she is gone.
However, we didn't really like this cover as it does not look aesthetically pleasing. Also, we did not like this particular picture of the background of the city light because we felt that it did not look as exciting or more aesthetically pleasing so therefore we decided to use another image of the city lights which looked more pleasing. We decided that on our next edit of the CD cover we wanted to use make the image of the character more darker and also use some shadow effects to emphasise the significance of Sara leaving the world.

UPDATE ON CD COVER
We liked this edit of the CD cover in comparison to the previous edits due to the fact that we felt that this particular colour runs throughout the CD cover (digi-pack) so it made sense to use this image for our CD cover.

DRAFTS/PRACTICE OF CD COVER (DOUBLE EXPOSURE- 2)
Here are old drafts or an attempt to do the CD cover. We used images from the internet to practice on how to do double exposure. We wanted to see what it would look like if we used double exposure for our CD cover.

USING DOUBLE EXPOSURE ON PHOTOSHOP
Here is a practice of us making the CD cover step by step using double exposure:
STEP 1
STEP 1
- We decided to use the same image of the character. we decided to cut put the image and change the capacity 50% so that when we add the background image of the city, the image can be seen through the image of the character to cut the image we used the magic wand and rubber. the image was not cut accurately however this won't be a problem as we are going to make the image darker and the sharp edges won't be as visible.
STEP 2
- We were not happy with the city image we took previously as it wasn't as colourful and vibrant so we decided to change. reused a more colour full image of a city and place it at the back of the characters image. we adjusted the size of the image making it equal size to the characters image. using the city as a background did not look attractive and looked busy and we did not want the CD cover to look busy as most CD covers are simplistic. so we decided to cut out the city image in the shape of the characters image( head) and use a simple black background as shown below:
STEP 3
- Here is where we are so far. We adjusted the capacity of both images so that the city lights were visible through the character image layer. The pitch black background made out CD cover look quite mature so we decided to change the gradient to make it more appealing.
STEP 4
- The next step is to add texts. we have decided to use this font for our band name and used a simple font for our music name. we used a white colour font to make it stand out more. most cd covers use simple fonts and colours however we decided to not follow this convention as out genre(house music) is more about being bold, colour, loud and dance so we used bold fonts that represent these feelings. the white font works very well as it contrasts with the black background and makes the text pop, allowing the audience know what bands CD cover it is and what album it is.
This is the final making of the double exposure using images from the internet. We wanted to use images from the internet to get a taste of what our CD cover would look like using double exposure. We wanted to use the image/s of city lights as it is a theme that runs throughout our music video due to the fact that the music video is set in a city- London.

MORE CD COVER INSPIRATIONS
Here I have found some more CD cover inspiration, these are on the modern side of the spectrum. We wanted to look at more modern CD cover as we thought that the previous CD cover we look at were quite old and out of date. These specific template that we decided to look at were similar to our CD cover or how we want our CD cover to look like. I have noticed that with these modern CD cover were more image based with little text which we want our CD to look like as we do not want to bore our target audience we information.
Only fans would purchase a digipack as they would want a hard copy of the product instead of listening to it on iTunes or on spotify. Therefore, it was important for the digipack to interact with the target audienceand make it worth its price.
We liked this digipack as we thought that the colour scheme used links well with the theme of our music video of friendship and loss.
We really liked this template as it is very simple as we want our digipack to look like however, it looks was too plain.

Rihanna's 'Loud' digipack one of the main digipack which we find very inspirational as she keeps the colour scheme the same throughout. This is also shown in her poster.

CONVENTIONS OF CD COVER
- Most cd covers we have researched use a simplistic colour scheme and design and we decided that we the colour scheme of our CD cover would be using the same colour scheme as well as being simplistic.
- Most of the CD covers we have researched have few or no characters all.
- They use a different colour for the band name compared to the rest of the cover, the font for the band name is usually Bold, simple fonts. For the title of the album, the font can be similar or entirely opposite of the band name.
- CD covers usually includes title that explains to the audience what the album will be about .The covers tend to give a vague idea about what music they would be expecting on the album, but generally I think they mainly reflect the artist's personality.
- The back of CD cover usually include the name of the band at the very top and name of the album beneath this. it also include list of song tittles on the centre of the page.
- CD covers usually have barcode in the bottom right to left of the corner of the page at the back of the CD cover.

FINAL CUT PRO EDITING PROCESS (2)
QUICKTIME from Bahja on Vimeo.
- This is the process of us using the final cut pro of the beginning scene of our music video. We started the video with the text of the song name to introduce the song and used the city lights to show the audience where the story is taking place- London-waterloo.
- we added an a letterbox, Aspect ration 2:55.1
- we added some effects to make the city look busy and colourful.
- we also added glow to make the city look more appealing

FINAL CD POSTER (2)
We decided that this edit would be our final CD poster as it looks more simplistic and more aesthetically pleasing. We thought that too much texts would ruin the feel as well as the appearance of the poster.

FINAL CD POSTER?
We decided on changing our final CD poster as we thought that it was too plain and we also added another real music promotional of adding the release date of when our CD album would be out. We also used the paint brush using the colour white to add a texture to picture as we thought the picture looked too plain. However, when we asked our target audience about what they thought of this edit, they believed that looked 'too edited' and 'too music'. So we removed the white off the picture.
This is the result of removing the white paint brush from the picture. It looks more simplistic and cleaner whereas, when we added the white paint brush, it made the picture look all over the place. In this edit we added the song name of the song of our music video to give our target audience an insight of what songs they would be expecting from us. We also blurred the texts to make it go with the text of the title as well as our music genre.
In this edit, we added a quote from 4music as this music channel which usually plays the same genre as our music. We used this quote as it means that our song will begin to be more popular as they are getting an opinion from people who usually listen to the same genre as them and it is almost like they are getting an expert opinion.
